A Jewelry Box from the Holy Land

Shefa Gems (LSE:SEFA) – Unearthing Unique and Uncovered Findings

Could sapphires, rubies, moissanite, hibonites, and diamonds ever be found in the Holy Land? If you look at Shefa Gems findings, you’ll see a “Jewelry Box” of gemstones and minerals!

While many areas around the world are known for a singular finding, the bounty of beauty – colors, sizes, etc. – uncovered samples in Israel’s impressive rare gems, is generating real wonder and is gaining interest as these gems are being unearthed.

Israel is a Leader

As a well-accepted world leader at the forefront of innovation in the areas of technology, healthcare, and more, the land of Israel continues to shine – after the Promised Land revealed its enormous natural gas field in December 2010 – this time quite literally. Gemstones are the new frontier as Israeli’s Shefa Gems (LSE:SEFA) is bringing to light, exploring abundant areas of Northern Israel in search of untapped treasures which prevail in the Promised Land.

Shefa Gems is sharing their mission as they reveal significant signs of precious gemstones through their Mount Carmel and the Kishon River Mid Reach exploratory projects. Gemstones including sapphires, the largest ( world record ) moissanite found yet, rubies, hibonites, Carmel Sapphires™, and diamonds have been discovered as Shefa Gems has been eagerly embarking on their drilling and bulk sampling programs in the Kishon Mid-Reach area surrounding the Kishon River near Mount Carmel.

According to research by VSA Capital, “Shefa Gems, through its sampling and drilling has discovered stones of significant weight and size. The largest ruby found to date was 1.7ct., the largest sapphire was 5.72ct and the largest Carmel Sapphires™ was 33.3ct.” Impressively, the Carmel Sapphire is now a registered trademark in Israel by Shefa Gems.

Shefa Gems is the only company in Israel focusing exclusively on developing a precious minerals project that is seen as a future growth asset.

Such findings are a revelation for those who consider places like Africa, Canada, and Russia to be the come-to-mind meccas for gem mining. Adding the Holy Land to the list is not only groundbreaking but puts Israel on the map as a potential world leader in harvesting precious gemstones.

What is mineral exploration?

Mineral exploration is the foundation of all mining and still plays a significant role in today’s global economy. Greenfields exploration (also referred to as grass-roots exploration) is how most mines have been established. Here, exploration is undertaken to discover new deposits in virgin areas away from any existing mines. Shefa Gems exploration is currently at a greenfields level. In contrast, brownfields exploration pursues the discovery of new deposits in the vicinity of established mines and/or known deposits. It has low risk, but the playing fields and discoveries tend to be smaller.

Greenfields exploration is a high-risk business but offers high rewards when a mine is discovered. To minimize the risks and improve confidence for wise decision-making – whether to continue exploring or walk away – the exploration programs must be systematic. This allows a process of target elimination so that higher potential targets can be identified more efficiently and evaluated further. Shefa Gems exploration methodologies are designed so that a systematic, stepwise approach can be achieved.

Such findings are a revelation for those who consider places like Africa, Canada, and Russia to be the come-to-mind meccas for gem mining.

A Piece of the Holy Land

Shefa Gems is the only company in Israel focusing exclusively on developing a precious minerals project that is seen as a future growth asset. The target areas under permits cover about 151,000 acres (~614,000 dunams) of Mount Carmel in northern Israel and surrounding areas and have given Shefa Gems exclusivity to explore, assess, and develop the precious mineral potential of this region.

Although the project is in the exploratory stages, the prospect of mining treasures from this region is creating a noteworthy buzz in terms of Israel’s future. As a land that is on the cutting edge in the areas of education and science, adding another high-level and highly-sought after field to the country’s many accolades can be a boost for the economy and a source of pride for its people.

Moving Forward

All precious minerals fed into a river system will by virtue of some geological phenomenon and river conditions be trapped in certain areas of the river. These ‘geological traps’ are like fish nets and depending on their trapping qualities, high concentrations of precious minerals can accumulate.

The current focus is an alluvial deposit which could be rapidly developed through to production at relatively low cost. To date the company has yielded encouraging results including bulk sampling with precious stone grades of 255cpht including gem corundum of over 30 carats in weight.

Shefa has in the past received support from De Beers who have verified and confirmed the presence of at least one large diamondiferous kimberlitic type body and provided significant resources.

When one day a mine is set up in the Holy Land, it would be priceless to the people and the state as well as the return for the backers of this mission.

It is now a matter of asking, “Are there sufficient quantities to be mined?” The current program will answer this.
